Creating Self Portraits

Age group: Toddlers (1-3 years old)

Self portraits are a great way to support children’s self-concept and identity, as well as creativity and fine motor skills.

In this learning activity, children will be encouraged to identify their own facial features in their reflection, intrepret their positioning and replicate on paper. Whilst it may seem like a simple drawing activity, research suggests that self-portraits are a great way to build self-confidence and a self-identity.
