Candles on my birthday cake

This fun celebration activity encourages children to refine fine motor skills and practice counting. There are so many versions of this you could try at home!

Use materials you have around the house to create a birthday cake and candles, and encourage your child to place the candles on the cake and count them as they go. You could make a cake for yourself, for siblings, or as many candles as you can fit on the cake!

Prompt conversations with your child about their age, and what birthdays mean.
