Children celebrate National Reconcilitation Week

This week marks National Reconciliation Week - a time to learn about shared histories, cultures and achievements; and move our country closer to an inclusive community. See what our centres have done to celebrate diversity and inclusion!

Children in Junior Preschool at Milestones Early Learning Tamworth CBD, created Aboriginal Flags. This experience allowed the children to build their knowledge of another culture as their educators explained what each colour of the flag represents.

National Sorry Day was commemorated at Aussie Kindies Glenn Innes. The children learnt about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and celebrated how important diversity is for our community. Using their hands and paint, they created beautiful artwork to display in-centre.

Children got creative at Aussie Kindies Early Learning Woy Woy by making patterns with Aboriginal symbols.

Celebrating and commemorating National Days and cultural events is an important part of the Lifelong Learning Centre's Healthy Communities program. We encourage children to be connected to their community, and active participants in celebrating culture, diversity and inclusion.

Why Kindergarten is one of the most important years

As children grow and develop, they become more curious of the world around them – and are driven to learn and explore. This is an important time to support their curiosity by exposing them to as many learning opportunities as possible.
