Posting Games

As children learn how objects can disappear and a natural play based on the enveloping schema develops - give your child opportunities to explore their natural curiosity and desire.

Enveloping schema is your child's natural desire to explore how items can be hidden, or inside other objects. This activity is also a great way to build problem solving skills, as well as fine motor skills as your child uses trial and error to post objects.

Whilst there are specific educational toys that promote this type of activity, a simple shoebox or items from around the house can be just as successful. This activity can be easily be themed as well - perhaps try creating a Santa Post Box at Christmas, or a Money Box.
