See Say Show: Conversational Reading

Conversational reading is a powerful way to read with your child, and it's not all about talking. Your child can point or look as a way to have conversation with you.

The Abecedarian Approach encourages you and your child to go 'back and forth' in conversation. There are three main levels to try - first is seeing, then showing, then saying. Ensure you allow time for your child to respond to you - whether that's pointing, or simply looking at the object you point out, before moving on.

Miss Jola from Affinity Education Group demonstrated this reading approach in a short video. Watch it here.

Don't forget reading in any way is valuable! So try to make time for it every day.
