Early Experiences – Lifelong Learning Curriculum For Your Toddler

We know your toddler is ready to babble, socialize and make friends in a safe and nurturing environment. Our childcare centres offer a wonderland of play-based early learning environments and experiences during the exciting toddler ages. Our qualified educators are trained and accredited by Affinity Education Group in the Lifelong Learning Curriculum.

The Lifelong Learning Early Experiences Curriculum emphasizes the development of Toddlers' language and social development using the Abecedarian approach within our intentional learning zones focused on play schemas that support toddlers' physical and intellectual development.

Each age group experiences our Lifelong Learning Curriculum, which has been specifically developed for babies, toddlers and 3-5-year-old children. The LLC is aligned with Australia Early years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Why choose a centre offering the Lifelong Learning Curriculum during the toddler years?

We know that quality early education is valuable in the first five years of a child's life, and our childcare centres provide a safe, supportive place for your child's self-identity and awareness to grow.

Our Toddler curriculum is focused on supporting language development and early social skills. These foundational skills set the scene for the active toddler to explore the expanding social world around them, build self-confidence and self-identity. Our Toddler program includes the Abecedarian language program and specially designed learning games to support both social & language development.

Jola Sung, Senior Educational Advisor for Affinity Education Group stated,The Abecedarian language program is internationally proven to be effective in supporting children's language development at an early age.

“Language is in everything we do, from socialising with friends, learning and making sense of the world! It is therefore important that we make language one of our top priorities in children's early development.”

What they learn, how they learn, and where they learn:
  • Exploration and creativity
  • Language Development through the Abecedarian 3a Approach for language acquisition
  • Communication skills, sharing and cooperation
  • Problem-solving and resilience
  • Early social skills with friends
  • Fine and gross motor skills
  • Singing and dancing
  • Early problem-solving, numeracy and literacy

Toddlers learn best through play, supported by gentle and fun interactions with their educators and other children. We also know that the relationship Toddlers have with educators is critical to support their learning. Our educators focus on building a trusting relationship with each individual toddler that supports them to fully enjoy the Early Experience program, build confidence and explore those early friendships with others. Our educators reflect on each child's unique interests and provide opportunities for children to contribute to their own learning and development. We consider children's opinions and involve them in decisions which affect them.

Our Early Experiences rooms are designed with the active toddler in mind, with spaces to explore their environment. The rooms provide many opportunities for hands-on learning and playing, resting and eating with friends. Look beyond the toys, and you'll see the careful planning of our rooms that provide specific learning zones. Our Toddler Lifelong Learning Curriculum zones include:

  • Discovery and Tinker (Construction) Zone
  • Toddler Talk
  • Little Artists
  • Imagination Station
  • Completely Connected
  • Move and Groove Zone

What’s provided for your toddler in our childcare centres?

Your toddlers will be welcome to follow their own routine and sense of adventure; Every day will be a little bit different, and every day is always full of fun! Our Healthy Children framework of events, activities, incursions and community excursions - enriches your child's early learning experience. You'll share these moments via the free Storypark app, connecting you to those magical moments in every toddler's life.

Once your toddler has progressed in their emotional, social, foundational and physical milestones, our educators will discuss with you the right time for them to transition into the next age groups before they commence a school readiness program for 3–5-year-olds.
