Changing the face of workplace training

We know that you, as parents, are looking for skilled and caring early childhood educators to kick start your child's love of lifelong learning. That's why all early childhood educators in our Lifelong Learning Centres have the opportunity to improve their skill sets through the Affinity Learning Academy. In May, 471 of our educators enrolled in either a Certificate III or Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. The month marked the highest national enrolments for the Academy which has already been a national-award finalist in the training sector.

Head of People and Culture, Linda Carroll said the program has delivered boundless opportunities and produced outstanding results in terms of staff engagement, retention, productivity, and career development for our educators, early childhood teachers and centre based managers across Australia.

Testament to that is the continued increase in enrolments from our educators, such as Teagan Brendecke. Teagan is one of our committed early childhood educators from Aussie Kindies North Ipswich who recently completed her Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care through the Academy.

As part of the Diploma offered by the Affinity Learning Academy, Teagan was able to complete her studies without the need to attend TAFE or external learning establishments. A dedicated development coach visited Teagan at her centre to guide her through her study modules and observe her practice as an educator while she interacted with the children in her care.

This structure enables educators like Teagan to complete nationally accredited qualifications while still engaging in full-time, part-time or casual work, building relationships and trust with your children. Speaking to Teagan, she said: “It’s been a pleasure to complete my studies through the Affinity Learning Academy, it has taught me so much, and the support was great with the trainers. This will continue my growth in my career goals”.

Congratulations Teagan! Affinity is so proud to support our hard working early childhood educators for their efforts in delivering outstanding professionalism.
