Our early education and care community continues to grow

We've welcomed five new Lifelong Learning Centres in New South Wales.
The first addition, an 87-place centre located in Woy Woy, NSW, was previously privately owned, and CEO Tim Hickey said the team and families have made a seamless transition to become part of the Lifelong Learning Centres community owned and operated by Affinity Education Group.

“Our newly rebranded Milestones Early Learning Umina centre is located just seven minutes from Aussie Kindies Woy Woy, one of our most loved and best performing centres in New South Wales, so we are thrilled to now offer our quality early education and care to more families in that area,” CEO Tim Hickey said.

Centre Managers Alexis and Sally Biddle, said the changes in ownership had been refreshing and opened up career opportunities they had previously not considered.

“It was a big change to go from working for a privately owned business to such a large company but we have been overwhelmed by the support and systems offered to us,” says Sally Biddle.

“We personally met the CEO Tim Hickey, State Manager Wayne Meredith, and our amazing new Area Manager Sally Raper straight away, and have been getting to know an incredible team of Centre Managers, educators and teachers who absolutely love what they do. Families have commented very positively on the change especially in terms of resources and communication about their children’s learning outcomes.”

Milestones Early Learning Umina will also offer the Lifelong Learning approach, which is a research-based approach to early education led by Affinity’s Education Team and Senior Advisor Pedagogy and Practice, Dr Lesley Jones.

The most recent acquisition of four Northern Sydney centres – Atlas Childcare in Baulkham Hills and three Giggles Childcare centres in Lexington and Carlingford – with a combined 328 places – will enable Affinity to offer increased and enriched early learning opportunities to families in those suburbs.

“We love what’s already on offer at those four centres, and we can add to that with our Affinity training and programs. This will take it to the next level for our families, and importantly, really empower our newest team members,” said Mr Hickey.

“Families will soon see the introduction of some of our signature early learning experiences offered to families at existing Papilio Early Learning Centres in New South Wales, and I’m confident they will notice improved outcomes for their children very quickly.”
Area Manager Casey Gleeson, who accepted the offer to transfer her enrolment to Affinity Education, said the entire team of more than 80 including Centre Managers, educators and teachers were excited to ‘join the Lifelong Learning Centres community’.

“We can’t wait to see where this new chapter takes us – everyone we have met and worked alongside so far has been so welcoming, helpful and supportive,” Ms Gleeson said.
Affinity Education Group is Australia’s third largest provider of early education and care, operating more than 150 approved Lifelong Learning long day care, kindergarten, preschool and OSHC centres across Australia.
